Detailed Love Test: 10 Questions

Ten questions, about four minutes. With almost twice as many questions as the medium test, the detailed version gives a more nuanced score on themes such as emotional intimacy, shared daily life, conflict or lasting love.

What the ten questions explore

The detailed test draws one of five sets of ten questions at random:

  • An overview of the relationship: words of love, important dates, affection, plans for the future, support for your goals, the time your partner makes for you, hard times, your successes, transparency and romantic gestures.
  • Deep emotional connection: how your partner responds to your fears, helps you through dark moments, makes you feel truly seen, encourages your growth and soothes your pain.
  • Shared daily life: how you face everyday challenges together, how your partner makes ordinary moments special, creates a sense of home, helps you balance work and private life, and makes you feel safe.
  • Communication and conflict: how your partner communicates in serious disagreements, responds when you are hurt, rebuilds trust, keeps small problems small, learns from past conflicts and makes you feel heard.
  • Lasting love: the most lyrical set, built around images such as finding your soulmate or moments when time seems to stand still.

A word about that last set: its wording describes an ideal of romantic love. Few couples, even very happy ones, live it that way every day. A more modest score on this set says more about how high the bar is than about the strength of your bond.

How your score is calculated

Each question has four answers. The most positive is worth 25 points, the least positive 5; in between, most questions give 20 and 15 points, a few give 18 and 12, or 18 and 10. Your total is divided by 250, the maximum for ten questions, and shown as a percentage.

If you chose the second answer to every question, you would score 200 out of 250, or 80%. The third answer everywhere would give 150, or 60%. Each answer can move the score by 8 points at most, so a single moment of doubt does not swing the result: this is why the detailed test gives a steadier picture than the quick one.

The score is calculated in your browser and your answers are never sent to us; our audience statistics only note that a test was completed, with its score (privacy policy).

How to read your result

Your score falls into one of six bands:

  • 85 to 100%They absolutely adore you! 💕
  • 70 to 84%Your partner loves you deeply 💖
  • 55 to 69%There's real love here 💗
  • 40 to 54%Love is present, but complex 💙
  • 25 to 39%There's affection, but not deep love 💤
  • Under 25%Love might not be the primary feeling 💔

Below the result, two suggested articles match your band. From 70%, they are about keeping a relationship alive over time; between 40% and 69%, about communication and trust; below 40%, about warning signs and communication.

Comparing your results as a couple

Once your result is displayed, the "Couple Match" button copies an invitation you can send to your partner. The link opens the same test; at the end, a "View Compatibility" button shows your compatibility score. The other button, "Send to Partner", only shares your own score. The link contains your score, so only send it to the person concerned.

The compatibility score combines two things: how close your two scores are (70% of the result) and their average (30%). With scores of 80% and 60%, the gap is 20 points, so closeness is 80; the average is 70; the result is 0.7 × 80 + 0.3 × 70 = 77%. Two scores that are both high and close together give the best compatibility.

Keep in mind that your partner may not get the same set of questions as you. The comparison puts two overall impressions side by side; it does not compare answers one by one. Its best use is to open a conversation: what guided each of your answers?

What this test is not

It is neither a diagnosis nor a scientifically validated test. It measures your perception of your partner over a given period, not their feelings. To go further, our in-depth fifteen-question test also covers trust, honesty and desire, and 10 signs your partner truly loves you describes what lasting love looks like in daily life. If you feel afraid or controlled, set the score aside and read our article on relationship red flags.
